It is near Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival, which is celebrated on 15th of the 8th month according to Chinese lunar calendar. It is known that most Chinese festivals are imbedded in various legends, and the Mid-Autumn Festival is no exception. Moon Festival related legends are Chang Er flying to the Moon, Wu Gang chopping the Tree, Rabbit Pounding Medicine, and Nintendogs Swallowing Month, etc.

The Chinese people have a special emotion towards the Moon derived by the association of Chang Er. On Moon Festival day, all family members will get together to worship the Moon by putting their incense burner tables under the Moon and praying for luck and safety to the kind lady – Chang Er.
