Africans accustomed to the heat of the Sahara Desert, which is only 100 kilometers from Tenerife, consider this place an ideal and often try to illegally cross the ocean. True, they are more concerned with the freedom and quality of life, but with the nature and the weather become a pleasant addition to their dream.
Tenerife’s main competitor in holiday spots is the Greek Crete, where there are more diversity, history and tourists. In this war, the main weapon of Tenerife is mild climate and bird’s park. But when the speech is about the golden sand Tenerife, embarrassed, turned its eyes to the side. The beaches here are not of the best, if the sand – the black, if not solid pebble.
In Puerto de La Cruz, unremarkable but nice town is the second most important attraction of Tenerife. About the first there is no question at all as volcano Teide cannot be ignored, no matter in what part of the island you are. As it is customary in civilized countries, to get to the highest point is possible by cable car for 10 minutes or walk for half a day. About half of the day will take on the very sight number two – Loro Park with trained parrots and monkeys, dolphins, whales, penguins, tigers and other cute animals and fish.
In the capital of Santa Cruz which is visited by most tourists, is one of best among beach holiday spots. The truth is that it’s behind the city and in an unpleasant proximity to the port. Sand it was carried from the Sahara itself, because the capital’s residents wanted to lie on the golden sands. And yet, to come to Santa Cruz is not to do sunbathe. Tourists come here to look at the second scale carnival after Rio de Janeiro and Masonic temples, wander through the streets, where there is virtually the Madrid crowd, to eat fish-parrot Viejo or a portion of a very tasty fried cheese.
