Oktoberfest 2016, a Wonderful German Festival in Munich

Oktoberfest is a wonderful festival held annually in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. The 183rd Oktoberfest opens its gates from September 17th to October 3rd 2016. With the 3rd October being a national holiday. The Oktoberfest 2016 is going to be seventeen days, instead of the usual 16 days, long.

Other than in 2015, there will be most likely be no Oide Wiesn, as the 126th Zentral-Landwirtschaftsfest, which is a traditional farmers’ fair, will take place during 2016 from the dates of September 17th to September 25th.

About Oktoberfest 2016

On 12 October 1810, celebrated Crown Prince Ludwig, later King Ludwig I, was married to Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen. As part of the wedding ceremony there was held on 17 October, a horse race, which was celebrated in the presence of the royal family as a celebration for the whole of Bavaria.

In deciding that the race would repeat the following year. So began the tradition of “October” festivals. The City of Munich and the feeder of the Oktoberfest.

So the breweries, showmen and market traders and interest groups with a historical reference to the Oktoberfest as the Bavarian Farmers’ Association want to celebrate this anniversary together.

Some Interesting Facts about the Oktoberfest 2016

All performing bands that occur in the tents are engaged directly for Oktoberfest 2016 by the respective fixed hosts. Their applications and inquiries should be sent directly to their respective tents.

Outside the performing tents, there is no way for musical performances. Similarly, there is no opportunity for street performance artists outside the festival.

It is true that the Oktoberfest visitor has tough choices to make. As with 14 tents to choose from, and each one more awesome than the other where do you drink first?

It’s not just the big tents at Oktoberfest that offer good food and fun parties to visitors. The small tents at the Oktoberfest offer a very wide variety of food and beverages and offer a relaxed, friendly atmosphere with their very individual and unique designs.

Even the souvenir beer mug can unfortunately not be taken into the stadium because it could be used as a missile. Men in traditional dress should be careful so not as to prompt problems at the entrance to the event. Women who want to be dressed in the Oktoberfest styled top can. However take your hairspray into the beer tent as at the stadium containers that are under pressure (spray hair, deodorant, etc are unfortunately prohibited.

Its called “Mittagswiesn” was introduced by the hosts and showmen in cooperation with the Tourism Office of the City of Munich. Since 1999, visitors will find food and refreshments in the tents but also at the rides and stalls.

Exchanging Money at Oktoberfest

The German bank has an ATM machine in the subway station at the Oktoberfest Theresienwiese. At the main entrance, the Mercury Bank ATMs.

The money exchange company Securicoin can be found directly at the main entrance behind the Oktoberfest mail center.

There you have it, all you need to enjoy the Oktoberfest 2016 festival and some great beer, company and dancing is all that is needed.
