Pink Floyd musicians denied the information that the group is intending to perform at the closing ceremony of the Summer Olympic Games in London August 12, reports Gigwise. The fact that the legendary band will participate in the closing of the Olympic Games, August 2, announced the British singer Ed Sheeran. According to him, he had to perform a duet with Pink Floyd song “Wish You Were Here”. At the same time the singer has made a reservation that not all of the surviving band members will be involved in the presentation. Sheeran only confirmed the participation of drummer Nick Mason, but he said nothing about the guitarist David Gilmour and bassist Roger Waters.
In response to the press reports that appeared in the wake of statements by Sheeran, the management of the group will make an official statement that Pink Floyd is not involved in the program of closing of the Games in London.
The last time three members of Pink Floyd appeared together on stage in 2011 during a concert in the hall Waters O2 Arena in London with the program of the album “The Wall”.
