In no particular order of things to do in Africa in 2013:
Great Wildebeest Migration – The Maasai Mara National Reserve
Every year when the Mara becomes uninhabitable for wildebeests and zebras, they cross the Mara River in thousands in search of greener pastures. This 7th wonder of the modern world can be enjoyed annually from July to October and is a truly spectacular sight.
The Victoria Falls – Zambia /Zimbabwe
The Victoria Falls are about 1.7 kilometers wide and over 100 meters high. In the wettest season, close to 500 million liters of water hit the rocks below. On hitting the ground, water is sprayed 1000 feet up the sky. Locally, this spectacle is referred to as Mosi-oa-Tunya – the smoke/steam that thunders.
Pyramids, Giza –Egypt
The Pyramids of Giza located a few kilometers from Cairo are over 5000 years old. The breath-taking views and history make the Pyramids a must see for anyone traveling to Egypt.
Nairobi National Park
For those who do not want to leave the comfort of city life whilst on a safari, the Nairobi National Park is the place to visit. This park is the only wildlife park located less than 15 kilometers from a busy city and therefore offers a unique experience for visitors to the main city of Nairobi.
Marrakech City, Morocco
This city is located at the foot of the Atlas Mountains. Yours eyes will be entertained for sure in this exciting and vibrant city with dancers and snake charmers alongside the excellent markets in Marrakech. The markets are the place to find excellent bargains from traditional clothes to souveniers as well as excellent local food.
Table Mountain, Cape Town, South Africa
At the top of the mountains, you will get to see the beauty that is Cape Town and it’s sparkling beaches. The world Cup 2010 was a great event for the city and this can be seen with the new stadium in the centre. The grape plantations will also take your breath away as well as other amazing activities in this beautiful city.
Track the Gorillas in Rwanda
At the present time there are only about 700 mountain gorillas left in the world and Rwanda is the place to be to see them. These beautiful animals are in a paradise setting in the wild and is defintely worth looking into. One of our top things to do in Africa in 2013 due to the excellent experience this offers any nature and animal lover.
